Jailbreaking iPod Touch Gen 2 To Firmware 4.1

So yesterday I successfully Jail Broken a iPod Touch Gen 2 device from Firmware 3.1.2 to Firmware 4.1. To start out with the process overall is more or less the same as in the past unlike my experience with a Gen 1 device in which I had to do a few things before I got things going. So after restoring the firmware 4.1 to the device, I then began the JailBreaking process which I used RedSn0w 0.9.6 to accomplish. In my opinion the RedSn0w or Dev team Pwnage tool are the best jailbreaking tools, they are usually simple, error free and a straight forward process, also other jail break methods tend to have all kind of kinks or issues you need to look out for, whereas Dev Team breaks usually are “cleaner”. After the device went into DFU mode and the process begun, I simply had to watch it all complete. In less than 10 minutes I was able to jailbreak the device. I will be repeating this for another Gen 2 device this weekend, but I wanted to post my experience with the first device. On a side note, although I could have JailBroken the device to Firmware 4.2, I decided to heed the advice of the general public and stay away from this Firmware version till the Dev Team says its safe. Look out for my next post in this series which will discuss the applications installation process from Firmware 1.2 to 4.1
